Yes! Palmerosa Campground is located in the heart of the Hocking Hills region at 19207 Keifel Road, Laurelville, Ohio 43135.

A portion of the Hocking State Forest bridle trail system is also located directly behind the campground.

What time is check-in and check-out?
Cabins

Check-in: 4:00 PM Eastern Time
Check-out: 11:00 AM Eastern Time

Cabin check-in begins at 4:00 PM to allow adequate time for cleaning and preparation.

RV & Tent Sites

Check-in: 2:00 PM–6:00 PM Eastern Time
Check-out: 12:00 PM Eastern Time

Guests arriving after office hours may use our contactless check-in process and do not need to stop at the office.

Late check-out must be approved by management in advance.

Unauthorized late check-out charges:

Cabins — $200
RV and tent sites — up to one additional night's site rate

Do you have private bathrooms and showers?

Yes. Palmerosa has three private, lockable bathroom/shower rooms.

Each room includes:

• Flush toilet
• Sink and vanity
• Hot shower

The bathrooms are available 24 hours a day.

Please help us keep them clean by closing the doors after use and being mindful of shower times during busy weekends.

Do RV sites have electric and water hookups?

Yes. Palmerosa offers RV sites with water and electric service.

Most RV sites include:

• 30-amp electric service
• Standard 110-volt outlets
• Water
• Picnic table
• Fire ring

Palmerosa does not currently offer sewer hookups at individual RV sites. Two campground dump stations are available.

If you have questions about a specific RV site or your rig size, please contact us before booking.

How many people can stay at each campsite?

• Tent sites: Maximum of 4 guests per site
• RV sites: Maximum of 6 guests per site

A maximum of two camping units may be permitted on one site, depending on the site.

Examples include:

• Two tents
• One RV and one tent

Please contact us if you have questions about your group size or setup.

Can I arrive early or stay later than the normal check-in/check-out time?

Possibly.

Early arrivals and late departures are subject to availability and must be approved by management.

Please contact us before arrival if you need an early check-in or late check-out.

Overflow parking may be available while guests wait for their campsite to become available.

Unauthorized late departures may result in additional charges.

How do I pay for my reservation?

Reservations may be made directly through the Palmerosa website and reservation system, or you may contact us for assistance.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.

The remaining 50% balance is automatically charged 7 days before arrival.

Reservations made less than 7 days before arrival require payment in full at the time of booking.

Travel protection options may be available through our reservation provider and are strongly encouraged.

What is the cancellation policy?
RV & Tent Sites

• Within 7 days of arrival: No refund
• 8–29 days before arrival: 50% refund, less applicable booking fees
• 30+ days before arrival: 100% refund, less applicable booking fees

Holiday Reservations

Within 14 days of arrival: No refund

Cabin Reservations

• Within 14 days of arrival: No refund
• 15–29 days before arrival: 50% refund, less applicable booking fees
• 30+ days before arrival: 100% refund, less applicable booking fees

Rescheduling

Guests who wish to reschedule rather than cancel may request one reservation change.

• Reservation changes are:
• Subject to availability
• Subject to management approval
• Subject to current pricing for the new dates
• Subject to a $25 change fee
• Limited to one change per reservation

Any increase in the rate for the new dates must also be paid.

Weather

Palmerosa Campground does not issue refunds for weather-related conditions, including rain, snow, excessive heat, burn bans, hurricanes, tornadoes, or similar events.

Travel protection is strongly encouraged when available.

Are your rates fixed?

No. Palmerosa uses variable pricing.

Rates may change based on:

• Season
• Occupancy
• Holidays
• Demand
• Availability

Booking early is generally the best way to secure the lowest available rate.

Do you offer housekeeping in the cabins?

Palmerosa does not provide daily housekeeping during your stay.

Linens and towels are provided.

Cabins also include basic kitchen utensils and a starter supply of items such as toilet paper and paper towels.

Guests staying multiple nights may wish to bring additional toiletries, paper products, towels, or other personal supplies.

If you need something during your stay, please contact us and we will help when possible.

Do I need horses to camp at Palmerosa?

No. Palmerosa welcomes everyone.

You do not need to own or bring horses to stay with us.

• Convenient access to Hocking Hills attractions
• Horse camping and bridle trail access for guests who ride

Whether you are visiting to hike, relax, explore waterfalls, camp, or ride horses, Palmerosa offers a peaceful place to stay in Hocking Hills.

How far is the bridle trail from the campground?

The Red Trail / Buckskin Canyon Loop runs directly behind Palmerosa Campground.

To access the trail, exit the campground, turn left on Keifel Road, travel approximately 0.1 mile, and enter the marked Red Trail.

Guests riding toward the Hocking State Forest Horseman's Camp can continue along the trail beside Keifel Road and follow the red trail markings.

The ride to the Horseman's Camp is approximately 3 miles. From there, riders can access many additional miles of the Hocking State Forest bridle trail system.

We recommend downloading the bridle trail map to your phone before your trip because cell service can be limited on the trails.

What should I bring for my horses?

Please bring the equipment you would normally use for trail riding and horse camping.

Recommended items include:

• Buckets
• Hoses
• Ropes
• Tie lines
• Clips
• Muck tools
• Bedding/shavings
• Feed and other normal horse-care supplies

Palmerosa has potable well water. If your horse is sensitive to changes in water, you may prefer to bring your own.

Please do not use straw for bedding.

We also strongly recommend downloading the bridle trail map before arriving. Cell service is limited on many portions of the trail system, and printed maps may not always be available.

Can I stay in a cabin and bring my horse?

Yes, depending on availability and your setup.

Dogwood Cabin has a nearby tie-out area, and Buckeye Cabin has space for guests to bring an appropriate tie-out.

Stalls are also located near the cabins:

• 4 stalls near Buckeye Cabin
• 2 stalls near Dogwood Cabin

If you need additional stalls, please contact us before booking.

Parking at the cabins is limited to one vehicle per cabin, and horse trailers cannot be parked directly at the cabins.

Horse trailers must be disconnected and parked in the designated trailer parking area near the campground office, approximately 200 feet from the cabins.

I have a tent but want electric and water. Can I reserve an RV site?

Yes.

Guests may reserve an RV site and use a tent instead of an RV.

Some RV sites are better suited for tents than others, so please contact us if you would like help selecting the best site.

Can I tent camp and bring horses to tie out or high line?

Possibly, but arrangements must be made in advance.

Our tent camping area has limited space for vehicles, horse trailers, and tie-outs. Horse trailers may need to be disconnected and parked in the designated overflow/trailer parking area.

A limited number of tent sites may be suitable for safely tying horses.

Please contact Palmerosa before booking so we can determine whether an appropriate setup is available for your dates.

What is the parking policy?

Each campsite includes parking for one vehicle.

Additional vehicles and trailers may be directed to designated overflow parking.

Staff can assist you with appropriate parking locations when you arrive.

Please do not park or drive on grassy areas unless directed by Palmerosa staff.

Guests who require additional dedicated parking may need to reserve an additional site.

Is Palmerosa dog-friendly?

Yes. Dogs are welcome at Palmerosa Campground.

Dogs must remain under their owner's control and on a leash while in the campground. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Is firewood available at the campground?

Yes. Firewood is available for purchase at Palmerosa Campground.

Please follow any posted fire restrictions or burn-ban requirements during your stay.
